Abu Dhabi, 22 November 2024: Day two of the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) 2024, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, and organised by ADNEC Group, continued to captivate audiences with a dynamic showcase of marine innovation and homegrown talent.

In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, Abu Dhabi Media launched the Al Dana Award for professionals and amateurs participating in the Kingfish Challenge. The award offers annual cash prizes worth AED 100,000 for the seasons from 2024 to 2026 and aims to cement Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading maritime sports destination in the region.

The Abu Dhabi International Boat Show welcomed the regional debut of two vessels. The Finnish-built Grandezza 37, the flagship model of Grandezza Boats’ signature series, has been semi-customized to cater to both client preferences and the unique demands of the regional environment. Additionally, Dubai Power Boats, the exclusive GCC distributor of luxury boat brands, showcases the World Cat 400CC-X, a new addition to World Cat’s lineup. Designed for those who prioritise performance, luxury, and comfort, the 400CC-X boasts an expansive layout and top-of-the-line features.

Combining innovative build materials with cutting-edge regenerative, fossil-free power systems, their yachts achieve a remarkable 90% reduction in environmental impact while delivering exceptional offshore sailing performance.

The Knowledge Box had several insightful sessions, including one from adventurer Harry Amos who shared his journey of rowing across the Pacific Ocean from California to Hawaii—a grueling 39-day, 4,800km challenge. Harry’s inspiring tale of endurance and determination goes beyond personal achievement, as his adventure raised a £130,000 for The Blue Marine Foundation and The Invictus Games Foundation. Visitors gained a unique insight into the physical and mental resilience required for such a monumental feat, as well as the critical importance of supporting marine conservation and empowering injured servicemen and women.
