Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has announced today that it will host the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show in 2018 in association with British Marine Boat Shows. The event will be organised by one of ADNECs subsidiaries and is set to take place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in October 2018.
British Marine Boat Shows are the organisers of the London Boat Show and Southampton Boat Show. The London Boat Show takes place at ExCeL London, London’s premier event venue and a wholly owned subsidiary of ADNEC.

The upcoming edition of the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show will take place at ADNEC Marina, which includes a six-metre deep channel enabling ships of all sizes to berth alongside an extensive purpose-built 31,000-square-metre show marina.

The year 2017 was a momentous one for ADNEC. It held 54 exhibitions, representing an increase of 25.5 per cent from 2016, including 13 new exhibitions. Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) has recently participated at the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO) Congress, which was held from 6th to 9th June in Berlin. Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company’s (ADNEC) presence at the congress falls in line with its preparations for the forthcoming inaugural edition of ADIBS, which is set to happen from 17th to 20th October this year. ADIBS recently joined IFBSO, an organisation aimed at developing boat shows and marine trade exhibitions worldwide.

The Show will host a dedicated fishing feature zone in-line with the popularity of fishing in the UAE and will display traditional dhows to the very latest in modern day boats and equipment from the leading international suppliers in the market.
The GCC countries are thriving markets for leisure boats and yachts driven by marine tourism, watersports, and coastline property developments. An industry report by Mike Derret Marine further revealed that there are currently about 46,000 pleasure boats in the GCC alone, worth US$ 4 billion to US$ 5 billion. The UAE forms the centre of boatbuilding in the region with some 100 licensed boat manufacturers producing 600-800 boats per year.
Plans are underway for mega marinas and harbours in the UAE, designed to meet demand for luxury berths for both superyachts and medium-size leisure crafts. In Abu Dhabi, especially, the growth of island and seashore developments and leisure marine facilities, will further catapult the Emirate into the spotlight of the global leisure marine and luxury yacht industry.
Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has announced that tickets for the upcoming Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) in October 2018 can be bought online through the show website, www.adibs.ae:7342. Hosted and organised by ADNEC for the first time, the show, to be held from 17th to 20th October, will impress visitors with high-end entertainment, stunt performances, attractions, leisure activities and water sports.
Visitors must book tickets in advance for the opportunity to win a number of prize experiences, including chances to meet and ride as a passenger in a two seater F1 powerboat with Team Abu Dhabi Champion, Thani Al Qemzi, yachting adventures by Xclusive Yachts, and Seakart experiences in Seakart’s hybrid jet ski inflatable boat.
Over 20,000 visitors are expected to attend ADIBS to witness a visual display of Abu Dhabi’s rich marine culture and enjoy the experiences on offer at the purpose-built ADNEC Marina, the first and only purpose-built marina with a six-metre deep channel in the UAE dedicated to host international events. The first day of the show is exclusively for VIPs, international and local media and special guests of exhibitors. On the 18th of October, the show opens for a long weekend of visitor entertainment consisting of various motorised and non-motorised watersports, activities and entertainment, from show opening at 3pm, until 11pm closing.

Visitors to the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show hosted at ADNEC Marina will have free on-site parking during the event. Ticket prices range from AED 20 for a 1-day visitor ticket purchased in advance and AED 30 if buying at the show entrance. A multi-day ticket can be purchased for AED 40 for the full three days of the event. Children aged 15 years and younger can attend for free with an accompanying parent or guardian.

During the event, Al Suwaidi Marine will be launching their new 29 ft boat, ASM 29. Delma Marine who will launch the latest model of Boston Whaler 210 Montauk and the new Mercury V8 300 engine. In addition, Riviera will be launching the Rcat50 in the Fly-bridge version, the Rcat38 and the Riviera Closed Abra, one of UAE’s most traditional modes of transport, alongside the Amphibious Boat and the new ASIS Amphibious Beach Lander Boat from ASIS Boats. Dubai-based Sulaco Arabia will use the ADIBS platform to conduct the Middle East launch of the sensational Tullio Abbate range, hand crafted in Lake Como, which will include the Elite 27R, the Sea Star RS, Sea Star Racing and the Tullio Abbate Kid.
Gulf Craft will be launching a new model from their leisure range while other major international players are also gearing up to conduct regional premiers of their products at the show. Along with launches from UK-origin Princess 55 from Princess Yachts and the MC6 – 2019 Model from SF Yachts, set to be displayed for the first time in the Middle East. Aside from craft boats and yachts, the show will also be a showcase for advances in vessel management, Italian manufacturer KEELCRAB will release the latest models of drone operated hull cleaners, to be its regional launch in the Middle East.
According to a Frost & Sullivan report, the global recreational boat market is expected to be worth USD 23 billion by the end of this year and is on track to reach USD 30 billion by 2022. The report further cited that the UAE recreational boat market is forecast to reach USD 1.5 billion in 2018; the UAE is an emerging market with high spending power and provides significant opportunities for investors. Abu Dhabi’s marine tourism market has been witnessing a steady demand for luxury yachts and boats in recent years, driven by a rise in marinas and waterfront developments.
ADNEC’s 31,000 sqm extensive, purpose-built marina will host this much-awaited event, which is expected to attract over 20,000 visitors and feature 75 boats berthed at the venue.
