Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has announced today that it will host the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show in 2018 in association with British Marine Boat Shows. The event will be organised by one of ADNECs subsidiaries and is set to take place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in October 2018.

British Marine Boat Shows are the organisers of the London Boat Show and Southampton Boat Show. The London Boat Show takes place at ExCeL London, London’s premier event venue and a wholly owned subsidiary of ADNEC.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC, said: “We are delighted to collaborate with British Marine to host a world-class boat show in Abu Dhabi. The event will be a valuable addition to ADNEC growing portfolio of local and international events. British Marine’s portfolio contains two world-class events including London Boat Show that takes place at ExCeL London.

ADNEC offers 133,000 square metres of inter-connected floor space to match the expectations of a wide variety of events and exhibitions. Equipped with modern facilities and built to international standards, the venue attracted 1.5 million people across 480 events in 2016.

ADNEC SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH BRITISH MARINE TO HOST ABU DHABI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) today announced that the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show 2018, set to run at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in October next year, is already registering high uptake from prospective exhibitors and key stakeholders within the marine industry.

The upcoming edition of the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show will take place at ADNEC Marina, which includes a six-metre deep channel enabling ships of all sizes to berth alongside an extensive purpose-built 31,000-square-metre show marina.

The inaugural edition of the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS), organised by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) in association with British Marine, has already received an overwhelming response and continues to do so from exhibitors and industry professionals at the London Boat Show which opened on Wednesday 10th January at ExCeL London in the UK capital.

British Marine, the membership organisation for the UK boating industry, will provide their vast experience towards the launch of ADIBS with both the successful London and Southampton Boat Shows in their established portfolio. Set to take place from 17 to 20 October 2018 at ADNEC, ADIBS is expected to draw the participation of 150 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors over four days. Catering to marine industry professionals, boating enthusiasts and families that enjoy a great day out on the water, the event will feature 75 boats berthed at the on-site show marina, with the marina already extended to meet demand.

Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company Highlights Opportunities within Regional Leisure Marine Industry at Düsseldorf International Boat Show

The Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) signed a strategic sponsorship agreement with Abu Dhabi Ports to launch the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show 2018, which will be held from 17 to 20 October 2018 in association with British Marine, the membership organisation for the UK leisure, superyacht and small commercial marine industry. The agreement aims to enhance Abu Dhabi’s position as a prominent leisure marine luxury yachts tourism destination.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamsi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Company, lauded the distinguished efforts made by the government and public-sector organisations to further enhance the business tourism segment and improve Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination across this vital sector. “Abu Dhabi has been witnessing a growing number of passengers at its cruise terminal area over the last few years. ADNEC signs sponsorship agreement with Abu Dhabi Ports to launch pioneering edition of Abu Dhabi International Boat Show

Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) revealed that it participated in the worldwide celebrations of Global Exhibitions Day (GED) on June 6, highlighting the strategic importance of the MICE industry to the growth of world economies. The GED initiative, which began in 2016, has seen an ever-growing number of participants and is actively supported by 40 exhibition industry associations and coordinated by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. As with previous GED events, industry professionals and students from around the world have been very active in online campaigns this year, while many global organizations hosted and organized events marking the day’s significance.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC said: “These are truly exciting times for the global MICE industry as analysts are predicting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.5 per cent in the next five years and reaching USD 1.24 billion in 2023. The year 2017 was a momentous one for ADNEC. It held 54 exhibitions, representing an increase of 25.5 per cent from 2016, including 13 new exhibitions. Customer satisfaction was at an all-time high, at 94.6 per cent. During the same year, ADNEC upgraded its Wi-Fi network to become the fastest in the UAE. It spearheaded several ‘Green’ initiatives and recycled 1,049 tons of waste material. It launched its strategic ‘Innovation Lab’ initiative in 2017, generated 22,000 job opportunities within Abu Dhabi and contributed to the occupancy of 690,000 hotel nights in the emirate as a result of the hosted events and exhibitions.

ADNEC’s pursuit of excellence was rewarded the same year, when it bagged several awards for its noteworthy contributions, among them being the first company within the MICE sector in the region to be awarded EFQM certifications. ADNEC was also shortlisted in the top 10 for 7 out of 9 main sub category awards of the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance, winning three awards: Customer Happiness, Business Continuity & Risk Management and Corporate Communications. Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company celebrates Global Exhibitions Day

Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) has recently participated at the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO) Congress, which was held from 6th to 9th June in Berlin. Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company’s (ADNEC) presence at the congress falls in line with its preparations for the forthcoming inaugural edition of ADIBS, which is set to happen from 17th to 20th October this year. Supported by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism and Abu Dhabi Ports as the Strategic Partner, and organised by ADNEC. Being the first member from the UAE to join the organisation. ADIBS recently joined IFBSO, an organisation aimed at developing boat shows and marine trade exhibitions worldwide.

By taking part at this event, ADNEC streaks a strategic move to create greater global awareness about the highly-anticipated show, highlighting its importance to the global boating community, it also provided gaining insights into global best practices for the leisure marine and luxury yachting industries and showcasing its preparedness to host this leading event.
